After an early breakfast, we will transfer by air conditioned minivan, to Kompong Thmor, through the longer plantation road surrounding the ChamKa Leu area, one of biggest seasonal fruit producing areas in Cambodia during French colonial times. After arriving in Kompong Thmor, we will disembark the minivan and arrange our bikes for the ride to the Sambo Preykuk temples. We will ride through the former Khmer Rouge dam, which is now being run by a German water irrigation company that supports irrigation and agriculture projects in rural Cambodia, in the remote countryside. We will enjoy the beautiful countryside and see the locals all with incredible smiles, waving and saying hello, everywhere we ride. Weโll ride through the scenic rice paddies and breathe in the wonderful aromas that fill the air.
You will definitely need your space on your cameras to record these views and memories.
There will be three refreshment stops, offering water, fresh seasonal local fruits and traditional snacks, on the ride to the Sambo Preykuk temples.
Next we will enjoy a delicious lunch at the local restaurant, cooked by the Mother of the restaurantโs owner, nearby the temples.
After lunch, we will explore the ancient temples, then we will ride to the homestay for our overnight stay.
Dinner, at the homestay, will be cooked in the traditional local style by the family. We will relax, after dinner and listen to the interesting stories of local life, now and in the past.
