After breakfast, we take a transfer from our resort to the Chiang Dao Caves and the start of this dayโs ride. Chiang Dao Caves features beautiful crystal formations and is an interesting place to visit. Boasting some of the most spectacular stalactite and stalagmite formations in the country, Chiang Dao Cave stretches many kilometers into the mountains. The cave is part of the 2,100-metre-high Doi Chiang Dao mountain range, the third highest peak in Thailand. After a visit to the cave, weโll ride through rice fields set among soaring limestone cliffs. Our ride will be a mixture of dirt paths cut by local hill tribes and we may meet some tribe peoples โ Akha, Lisu, and Palaung โ from the area. There is time to stop in their villages and get a feel for their lifestyle and culture. The colorful Palaungs are recent migrants from Myanmar, much like the Lisu and Akha before. You will see the Palaung women adorned with heavy brass waist-bands working the fields. Distance today 35 km
