With our local student guide, you will spend your day exploring the beautiful countryside around Battambang by bicycle. Visit with Cambodian families who produce traditional products (such as rice paper, dried bananas, and bamboo sticky rice) made in the same way they have been for generations.
You will learn first hand about every day life in rural communities which make up over 70% of Cambodia’s population.
Half Day Highlights: Learn from local families about how they make traditional products such as rice paper, dried banana, bamboo sticky rice, fish paste and rice wine. Taste and experience the pleasures of these products fresh off the fire. Spend some relaxing time in a traditional Khmer house enjoying seasonal fruits and coconut water. Finish your morning tour by visiting a memorial site for the victims of the Khmer Rouge.

For Full Day Tour, you will continue on to: Enjoy a delicious Cambodian lunch at a family home. Visit a Buddhist Temple to gain an understanding the principles and practices of a religion that is central to Cambodian life. To round out your education, end the day learning about Cambodian history through French colonial architectural sites. Bamboo Train (Optional, afternoon stops dependent on preferences and time) As of Oct '17, bamboo train is out of service. We will provide an update on when service will restart once information is released.
The half day tour is about 25k, full day around 33km. Both tours start at 7:30 and returns around 12pm and 3:30pm respectively. These tours are suitable for people of all fitness level.
