Đồng Tháp is a southern Vietnam province in the Mekong Delta, bordering Cambodia. In the north, the sprawling wetlands of Tràm Chim National Park are home to many species of birds including sarus cranes, herons and spot-billed ducks. Artifacts from the ancient Óc Eo civilization have been discovered at Gò Tháp archaeological area, a former military resistance base close to the provincial capital of Cao Lãnh.
